Kendrapara:  At least ten persons were injured following a clash between rival political factions at Baruna village under Rajkanika police station in Kendrapara district, police said today.

Altogether 15 persons from both the groups were detained in connection with the incident which is a fallout of post-poll violence. Rival party workers fought a pitched battle by brick-bating following an altercation which ensued over the panchayat poll results.

The injured persons are stated to be out of danger and undergoing treatment at government-run Rajkanika and Aul health centres, they said adding armed police deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.
