Puri: It has been almost a month that the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha declared the results of Class 10 examinations, a large number of students in Puri district are a worried lot now as they are yet to get their matriculation mark sheet-cum-provisional certificates along with the school leaving and conduct certificate.

The Board published the results of 2019 annual class X examinations on May 21. Two days back, it also decided to revise the date for applying online CAF to June 25 (11:45 PM), instead of June 21. The last date for submission of print copy of online applied CAF at any SAMS Resource Centre is June 26 by 5 PM. While the first merit list will be published on July 2, 2019, the admission process will be carried out from July 3 to July 6.

With the dates of cut-off inching closer, students fear that the delay in grant of all the required certificates for admission into Plus-II courses could affect their academic future.

"Colleges ask for school leaving and conduct certificates during admission. We are yet to get all the documents necessary for admission," said a student, Srestha Patnaik.

Results were delayed due to cyclone Fani. Now with the grant of certificates being delayed, we are worried about admissions. I have submitted application for admission in Sasaswati Sisu Bidya Mandir at Keshavdham Gatiroutpatna in Cuttack," says Pragyansri Patra, another student.

"Every single thing is getting delayed. I don't think the government is monitoring or initiating any measure in providing the mark sheets," alleged a guardian.

Puri district Collector Balwant Singh, however, assured that the delay in grant of certificates would not come in the way of students during admissions into Plus Two courses and that he would hold discussion with the concerned board officials to take necessary steps in this regard.
