1 killed, another injured in road mishap in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: One person was killed and another critically injured after the bike they were riding rammed into a truck from the rear near petrol pump in Raighar road under Umerkote in Nabarangpur district late Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Bepari of Badakumari village under UV-1 in the district. The injured whose identity is yet to be established was rushed to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) with the help of locals.

According to reports, Rajit and his friend had gone for pandal hopping on Maha Saptami yesterday. When the duo was returning home, Ranjit lost control over the motorcycle and dashed into the truck from the rear. Ranjit died on the spot.

On getting information, police rushed to the spot and sent Ranjit’s body for post-mortem. Further investigation into the incident is on.
