1 killed, 2 injured in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Keonjhar/Balasore: At least one person was killed while two others sustained critical injuries in separate road mishaps in Keonjhar and Balasore districts of Odisha today.

According to sources, one woman was killed after being hit by a speeding ambulance near Balijodi area in Keonjhar district. The deceased has been identified as Lochana Nayak of Parsurampur village. The mishap reportedly occurred when Nayak was crossing the road.

Following the mishap, locals staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased.

On getting information, Police reached the spot and held discussions with the agitating locals.

In Balasore, two bikers sustained critical injuries after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Baruni Bridge on NH-16.

Soon, the duo was rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) by police and they are currently undergoing treatment. The identity of the duo is yet to be ascertained, informed sources.
