Puri: A youth was arrested from Talabania Jagannath Colony in Puri by West Bengal police today for posting a picture of the private moments with his girlfriend on social media.
According to sources, the accused identified as Manoj Nanda, a resident of Rourkela, posted the picture after relationship with his girlfriend turned bitter. Police have seized 2 mobile phones and 1 laptop from Nanda, sources said.
The matter came to light after the victim lodged a complaint at Bhudan Nagar police station in West Bengal.
An official of West Bengal police, Bidit Mandal, said "The accused has been taken into custody after a complaint was registered. We are taking him to West Bengal where he will be produced before court."
Recently in Odisha, there have been multiple incidents of private videos being made viral.
In one of the cases, video of a newly-wed tribal woman’s private moments was made viral by her ex-boyfriend in Jeypore of Koraput district.
In another incident, a minor girl committed suicide on May 5 after she was allegedly raped and the video of the incident was made viral by the accused in Nabarangpur.
