Youth injured in firing in Bolangir

Bolangir: A youth was critically injured after being shot at on Bolangir-Titlagarh road today. The injured has been identified as Dilip Patnaik who suffered bullet injuries on his chest and waist.

Patnaik was initially admitted to Bolangir district headquarters hospital, but later he was shifted to Burla medical as his condition worsened.

"After a medical examination, we found that two bullets were shot at the youth. One of the bullets is stuck near his waist. We have referred him to Burla medical as his condition may deteriorate. After primary treatment he is now stable," said doctor Bipin Kishore Behera of district headquarters hospital.

However, the accused is yet to be identified and there is no information about the reason behind the attack so far. A police investigation is currently underway.
