Kendrapara: A youth was brutally stabbed to death by his sister-in-law and her alleged lover in Olabha village under Rajkanika police limits of Kendrapara yesterday.
The matter came to light after a video of the attack went viral. In the video, the victim Binod Bai is seen being attacked in broad day light in presence of villagers.
Following the incident, residents of the Olabha village launched a protest in front of Rajkanika Police Station by placing the body of the deceased demanding action. Later, Pattamundai SDPO and Aul MLA reached the spot and pacified the agitating crowd.
While one person has been detained by the police in connection with the case, an investigation is currently underway.
"We have launched an investigation and the accused will be arrested soon. Illicit love affair could be the reason behind the murder," Pattamundai SDPO, Umashankar Maharana said.
