Bhubaneswar: A young filmmaker from Odisha, Amrutendu Baral was awarded the prestigious India International Excellence Award at Dubai last week. India International Excellence Awards is a SAWE initiative whose Dubai edition was held at Hotel Armani, Burj Khalifa.
As per reports, Baral received the award in the category of “Film Maker of the Year" Documentary, for his adventure film – Mission Gange, which was a Tata Steel Adventure Foundation project.
Baral received the award from Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor and former Cabinet Minister and BJP National Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain. Many other members of the Indian film industry including Madhur Bhandarkar, Sunil Grover, Manish Paul also received awards in different categories.
Launched by former President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on September 10, the award distribution event took place in Dubai on September 14 amid the presence of a galaxy of Bollywood stars and diplomats from around the world.
