Woman killed in head-on collision between tanker and auto-rickshaw

Rayagada: A woman was killed while the driver of an auto-rickshaw sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Naidupeta of Jaykaypur in Rayagada district this morning.

The incident took place after the auto-rickshaw carrying passengers collided with a tanker coming from the opposite direction.

While the woman was killed on the spot, the auto driver, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Following the incident, palpable tension prevailed in the locality.
