West Bengal Woman Arrested For Peddling Brown Sugar In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has arrested a woman from West Bengal and two of her associates from Laxmisagar area of Bhubaneswar for their alleged involvement in brown sugar peddling.

As per reports, the main accused identified as Beauty Poddar and her associates were running a brown sugar racket by sourcing the contraband item from Balasore through an agent. Police are now in search of Poddar's brother, another active member of the group.

During multiple raids at Haldipadia slum in Bhubaneswar earlier, Poddar reportedly had managed to escape from the spot, informed sources. Police are now planning to take Poddar into remand to get more information on other agents and their illegal trade network.
