Weather Alert: Thunderstorm & lightning alert issued for 7 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued moderate thunderstorm alert and lightning alert for seven Odisha districts.

As per the latest forecast, moderate thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places in Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Balasore, Khurda, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts between till 1 PM today.

Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted that Odisha is likely to witness heavy rainfall by August 4 as a low pressure is predicted over the North-East Bay of Bengal.

The weatherman further said that in the the State is likely to receive light rainfall under the influence of the trough line between South Gujarat and interior Odisha which is now centred at 4.5- 7.6 km above sea level.
