Bhubaneswar: The Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for 12 Odisha districts today.
As per the latest weather forecast, moderate thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur at one to two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Puri, Nayagarh and Balasore between 2:45 PM and 5:45 PM today.
As moderate rainfall is also likely, people in these districts have been asked to remain alert.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) office also issued dangerous thunderstorm and lightning alert for Koliana, Shamakhunta and Bangiriposhi blocks of Mayurbhanj district within 3.33 PM today.
