Kolkata: West Bengal Agriculture Marketing Minister Arup Roy on Saturday requested the Odisha minister for tourism, culture and co-operation to arrange for a land in Puri to set up a farmers` guest house there.

Roy made the request to Prafulla Samal, the Odisha minister, when the latter met him at the Writers Buildings, the state secretariat. "He has assured me in this regard," Roy said.

During the meeting, Samal and Roy discussed areas of co-operation between the two governments in the field of agriculture and agricultural marketing.

Roy said West Bengal would send the `Langra` and `Himsagar` variety of mango and `Gobinda Bhog` rice to Odisha.

Roy said he also talked of co-operation between the two states in the tourism sector.

While talking to reporters, Samal defended ruling BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik suspending Rajya Sabha member and dissidents` leader Pyari Mohan Mohapatra from the party and sacking of two ministers saying "no body is above party discipline".
