Viral Video: Security Guard Thrashes Mentally Challenged Man, Loses Job

Rourkela: A security guard deployed at a government hospital in Rourkela was dismissed from service after a video showing him assaulting a mentally-afflicted destitute person, went viral on social media platforms.

According to sources, the accused, Sushant Kumar Patra was working with a private firm Sarala Security Services and posted as a security guard at a government hospital in Rourkela.

For reasons unknown, Patra thrashed a mentally retarded person outside the hospital, unaware that the incident is being recorded by locals.

Soon after the video went viral on social media, the security firm sacked Sushant. Santosh Kumar Rout, the security in-charge said, "This is nefarious and I condemn this brutality. Sarala Security has removed him with immediate effect."

The victim on the other hand has been admitted to hospital for treatment while police have begun investigation after lodging an FIR.
