Viral Video: Girl Thrashes Youth For Passing Lewd Comments

Jeypore: A video of a girl thrashing an eve-teaser in broad daylight in Koraput's Jeypore is garnering appreciation and accolades from all quarters for her bravery.

The girl in the video is seen thrashing a bike-borne youth and trying to snatch his bike keys near Jay Nagar Park in the town for allegedly harassing and passing lewd comments at her.

Though the identity of the girl is yet to be established, it is being said that she was returning home from tuition when the incident happened. Some unknown person recorded the whole episode on a mobile phone and made it viral on social media.

The miscreant, however, managed to flee the spot as the bystanders and passers-by remained mute spectators and didn't lend a helping hand to the girl who was taking on the biker all alone.

While the bravery of the girl for taking on the eve-teaser has brought widespread applauds from various quarters, it has also raised serious concerns on the safety of women in the city.

Till last reports were filed in, no complaint was lodged at any police station in connection with the incident.
