Sambalpur:  With the onset of summer, residents of Nuapada village under Sambalpur Municipal Corporation limits in the district are now staring at acute drinking water crisis. The sole tube-well in the village is now unable to cater to the drinking water requirements of nearly 50 households. As a result, the villagers have to walk 2 kms to fetch water from a pond.

“Drinking water can’t be accessed from the tube-well all the time. As a result, we are now depending on a pond to meet our daily water requirements,” rued a local, Tapaswini Khadia.
