Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education today announced dates for admission to fill vacant Plus II seats in junior colleges across the State. At present 1.34 lakh Plus II seats are lying vacant after completion of the regular admission process this year. Even, vocational studies have seen very low enrolment this academic season.
As per the notification, students can fill up the application form at www.samsodisha.gov.in from August 13 to 24 for admission into more than one lakh vacant seats in Plus-II Arts, Commerce and Science streams.
Merit list will be announced on August 29 and candidates can take admission on August 30 and 31.
After the declaration of the result of the Supplementary Examination 2019 conducted by the Board of Secondary Examination, the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has decided to conduct second phase Plus II admission, the notification read. This apart, the second phase admission will help students who could not take part in the admission process in the first phase due to unavoidable reasons.
According to reports, out of 4,48,451 seats, as many as 1.34 lakh seats in 1,984 junior colleges across the State are lying vacant after the first phase admission for the current academic session.
Highest vacancy of 14,566 seats has been reported from Ganjam district followed by Khurda.
