Badamba: An under-trial prisoner (UTP) died at Athagarh sub divisional hospital on Sunday morning.
Report said the deceased Abhaya Pradhan (45) was arrested and lodged in Badamba Jail on March 9 in connection with a dowry torture case.
On Sunday morning, he complained about acute chest pain to the jail authorities who admitted him to the Badamba hospital.
But as his condition became critical, he was brought to Athagarh sub divisional hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Following information, police reached the hospital and took the body to the morgue for post mortem.
Though police has informed the death of Pradhan to his family members, the latter are yet to reach at the hospital till reports last came in.
