Cuttack: Unable to bear the loss of her only son, a woman allegedly took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence near College road under Salepur police limits of the district. The deceased has been identified as Jayashree Bishal.
Husband of the woman claimed that she was struggling with depression after her son, who was a +2 science student committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan three months back.
"Three months ago, our son committed suicide. My wife could not bear the trauma left by the incident and was going through serious depression. Unable to bear the loss, I suspect she must have hanged herself just the way our son committed suicide," said Sudam Behera, husband of the deceased.
Salepur Police is carrying out further investigation into the incident.
