Uber driver attacked, looted by two miscreants in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Two unidentified miscreants attacked an Uber driver at Tapoban Chhak in Khandagiri area here and escaped with his car on the wee hours of Thursday.

The driver identified as Ganesh Mahakud received critical injuries while trying to put up a fight and foil the robbery bid. He has been admitted to a private hospital and his condition is stated to be stable, reports said.

According to sources, his taxi was booked online at around 4.20 am and when Ganesh reached near Tapoban Lane, the duo launched an attack on him using sharp weapons. The miscreants snatched his mobile phone and cash worth Rs 12,000 before fleeing the spot with the car.

Locals rescued the driver and rushed him to a nearby hospital. On being informed, police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
