Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank conferred CBSE Teachers Award to 38 Teachers and Principals of CBSE affiliated schools including two Odia teachers during an online ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The two teachers from Odisha Dhananjoy Pan, principal of Delhi Public School, Paradip Refinery Township, Jagatsinghpur and Swapna Rani Panigrahi, social science teacher DAV Public School, Nuagoan, Berhampur. They were presented with a merit certificate, a shawl and cash amount of Rs 50,000 each.
Dhananjoy has over 35 years of experience in teaching, management and administrative school activities. His philosophy teaching is based on an inclusive environment based on four aspects of growth- physical, mental, emotional and social. Under his vast experience and able mentorship, various innovative practices have been adopted like experiential learning, transaction of curriculum by focusing on the thematic units by synergising inter disciplinary expertise like the subject thread activity and adopted child concept.
Similarly, Swapna Rani is an inspiring teacher who has been facilitating her students with novel ideas and innovative pedagogies. Her philosophy teachings rest on four Fs- Fun, Firm Feedback and formative assessment. Her innovative practices foster project based learning. She has meaningfully incorporated SDGs in her teaching to promote sustainable thoughts. Under Bharat scouts and Guides programme, her 350 student are State awardee guides and 16 are President awardees.
The CBSE awards were presented for the year 2019-20 in honour of the teachers and principals for their valuable contribution towards improving school education, innovation and dedication.
Minister Nishank congratulated the CBSE awardees for their excellent service, dutifulness and extraordinary contribution in the field of education.
“In the New Education Policy 2020, teachers have been placed right at the centre of the education system. It has been mentioned in the policy that all the schools must have adequate number of teachers and such environment shall be provided so that work culture in the schools is enhanced,” Nishank said.
