Paradip: Two siblings were killed and their father was critically injured when the mud wall of their house collapsed today after flood waters of river Mahanadi receded from the area in Orissa`s Jagatsinghpur district.

The victims had returned to their house, which was submerged by flood waters for over three days, when the mud structure collapsed at Kulasahi village in Raghunathpur area, additional district magistrate (ADM) Surjit Das said.

While Amita Pradhan (15) and her younger brother Akhaya (13) died in the incident, their father Ashok Pradhan (45) was seriously injured and rushed to SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack, he said.

Over 60,000 people of 89 villages under 35 gram panchayats were affected by floods in Jagatsinghpur district where paddy crops in over 7000 hectare were damaged due to the calamity, official sources said.
