Bhubaneswar: Barely hours after ransacking of Trahi Achyuta Ashram on the outskirts of the city and police arrest of the ashram’s chief Surendra Mishra and his sons, locals again struck the premises of the ashram and torched vehicles despite presence of police forces.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was set on fire which was parked near the Shiv temple on the premises of the Ashram.

Reports reaching here said locals in Kantapala village of Balasore and Akarapada in Jajpur districts also ransacked and torched Trahi Achyuta ashrams located there.

Tension also prevailed near Trahi Achyuta temple near Remuna square in Balasore. Angry mobsters damaged the signboard near the temple.

Reports also said that ransacking at Trahi Achyuta ashrams at Panabazar in Khurda and Chennakhia in Athagarh continued in the afternoon.

Irate mob has blocked the main road on Konarak-Kakatpur national highway.

The local administrations have deployed police at the spots to maintain law and order.
