Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, two children drowned in a pond in Salimarikunda village near Kalimela of Malkangiri district today. The deceased have been identified as Rame Padiami (5) and Vivek Madkami (6).
According to reports, the children had gone to take bath in the pond when the mishap occurred. It is suspected that the children drowned after slipping into the pond.
The matter came to light after the duo did not return for a long time and family members began to search for them. Later, some of the locals spotted their bodies floating on the pond and informed their family members.
Meanwhile, police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and further investigation has begun into the incident.
