Tribal group calls for ‘Bharat Bandh’, normal life affected in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur

Malkangiri/Nabarangpur: A 12-hour ‘Bharat Bandh’ has been called by the members of Samvidhan Banchao Sangharsh Samiti following which normal life has been affected in Malkangiri and Nabrangpur districts today.

The protesting members of the outfit alleged that the tribals, minorities and economically backward groups have been largely ignored which is why they have called for the bandh.

While normal life was thrown out of gear and vehicular traffic came to a grinding halt in Malkangiri, markets, business establishment also remained closed due to the strike.

Similarly in Nabarangpur, the agitating members have reportedly staged a road blockade on National Highway by burning tyres. While vehicular movement has been severely affected, shops in the area have remained closed.
