Bhubaneswar: The mines department of State Government has cancelled the trade licenses of 20 mine-based companies in Keonjhar and issued them show cause notice.

“The stringent step has been taken based on the reports of Venkat Raman and Verma — the chartered accountancy firm appointed by the state government’s mines department,” Deputy Director of Joda Mines said.

These companies have allegedly violated the mining rules by collecting iron ore and other valuable mineral resources from various mines and exporting them.
