The top extremist leader was granted bail during the release of then Malkangiri Collector R Veenil Krishna. Malkangiri police was apprised regarding his arrest, Andhra police sources said.
 
According to police the top ultra leader was driving a Bolero jeep to some where while police intercepted him near Bairi of Khamam district. The police fired at him in which he sustained injuries with his leg. However, he managed to give a slip to police.

Later, police arrested him from a local hospital where he was being treated. The extremist was involved in several cases including then Malkangiri Collector R V Krishna's kidnap.
