Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday issued moderate thunderstorm with lightning and rainfall alert for eight districts of Odisha.
According to the latest forecast, the warning has been issued for one or two places over the districts– Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Khurda including Bhubaneswar till 5:45 PM today.
People in these districts have been advised to remain alert during the thunderstorm.
Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted that Odisha is likely to witness heavy rainfall by August 4 as a low pressure is predicted over the North-East Bay of Bengal.
The weatherman further said that in the last 24 hours the State received light rainfall under the influence of the trough line between South Gujarat and interior Odisha which is now centred at 4.5- 7.6 km above sea level
