Balasore: At least three persons were killed and 10 others sustained critical injuries after a tourist vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a truck near Shergarh petrol pump in Balasore district in the wee hours on Sunday.
According to reports, nearly 25 people from Balisahi area in Puri had booked a light commercial vehicle to visit several tourist places including Devkund in Mayurbhanj district.
The tourists had left Puri at around 12:30 AM towards their destination, however, their vehicle rammed into a truck near Shergarh petrol pump in the wee hours today.
Following the mishap all the injured were rescued and shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital in 108 ambulance. The condition of three persons is said to be critical.
“After police and fire officials rescued and shifted all the injured to the hospital, we faced much problems as hospital staff did not pay adequate attention towards the treatment of the injured,” said an attendant.
Police have reached the spot and further investigation in connection with the road mishap is underway.
