Three cops injured in mob attack in Jharigaon

Nabarangpur: Three police personnel of Jharigaon police station were injured when miscreants attacked them on Friday.

The incident occurred when the injured cops – Constable Mahesh Patnaik, Home guard Ashok Kahali and Patiram Majhi - were patrolling in Kangara village. Suddenly the miscreants pelted stones at the three cops and attacked them with sticks.

The injured police personnel were admitted to the Jharigaon hospital. A case has been registered at the local police station.

PK Sethi, IIC, Jharigaon police station elaborated, “Some people were involved in a quarrel standing on the road. When the three cops tried to pacify them, suddenly the group attacked them. But luckily, the cops managed to escape with the help of some locals."
