Cuttack: In a bizarre incident, a man from Kankadajodi area of Cuttack district reportedly married thrice by projecting himself as an eligible bachelor.
As per reports, one Arabinda Sahoo married a girl of Badhigaon village in Boudh district on February 28 by posing himself as a bachelor. As per allegations, Arabinda was already married and he allegedly took the help of his brother-in-law, Santosh Sahoo, for his marriage on February 28. Santosh had reportedly visited the girl's home with the marriage proposal posing as Arabinda's brother.
However, soon after the marriage, the girl suspected something was amiss and came to know about the fraud. She contacted her family members who later lodged a police complaint. Police then rescued the girl and detained Santosh. Besides, police have seized all the items given by the bride’s family as dowry.
However, the accused Arabinda has been absconding since the matter came to light.
"I lodged a complaint after coming to know that I have been cheated by him. There was no reception ceremony at his place and no decorations and rituals were conducted. I was not even allowed to go outside," said the victim girl.
