Syed Yashir Nawaz New State President Of NSUI In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Syed Yashir Nawaz has been appointed as the new State president of Congress' student wing, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) in Odisha.

The appointment of Nawaz has been approved by the Congress president, stated a press release issued by All India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal.

Apart from Odisha, the Congress president has also approved the appointment of Pradyum Yadav as the State president of NSUI in Mumbai.

Expressing happiness over his new assignment, Nawaz said, "I would like to thank Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, NSUI National President Neeraj Kundan, Odisha in-charge Chella Kumar and PCC president Niranjan Patnaik. I will address the differences in NSUI and try to strengthen it."

"NSUI always fights for the interest of the students. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal remained completely silent over various issues. Due to the nexus between BJP and BJD, they are not raising voice against each other on several matters. So the NSUI will play a crucial role as an opposition," he added.

Asked about his plan to strengthen the organisational structure of the party in the State, Nawaz said, "We will form district-level committees which have not been constituted yet. Those who have been working for the party for a long time and not given any posts will be assigned new roles."
