Cuttack: In fresh trouble for gangster brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamant (D-brothers), the SJDM Court today accepted Commissionerate Police’s plea to make Sushant accused in the 2009 double murder at Nayabazar area.
As per sources, two contractors-Lichua alias Kameswar Sethy (38) and his relative Titua alias Anirudha Sethy (40) of Chauliaganj area were shot dead from close range at Nayabazar fish market on December 11, 2009.
After investigation, police then had arrested five persons including Sushil, the brother of Sushant, Kanoli alias Ashish Sahu, Babina alias Binod, Babulu alias Gauri Mohapatra and Bhajana Sahu.
“After arrest of Sushant Dhalasamant, police had prayed court to make him an accused in the double murder case in view of evidences against him,” said Biswajit Baral, government counsel.
Baral further said that Sushant was physically produced before the SDJM court and case under section 302 of IPC and sections 25 & 27 of Arms Act were registered against him while the next hearing has been scheduled for June 22.
Earlier, the cops had moved the court seeking permission to make Sushant an accused in the double murder case as he was absconding after committing the crime.
Both the gangster brothers are now cooling their heels in different jails since their arrest in 2016 in connection with another murder case.
