Students observe Saraswati Puja with gusto

As per almanac, Goddess Saraswati is regarded as the goddess of knowledge, music and art. Hence, the occasion is observed with much interest and enthusiasm by the students of educational and vocational institutions.

In the twin city, students of schools and colleges celebrated the day by offering prayers to the goddess in their respective institutions. In the schools of Bhubaneswar students congregated early in the morning to offer their prayers.

The priest usually performs the rituals and then the students offer flowers and prayers to the goddess. However, in Unit VIII Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir the students carried out all the rituals on their own. The students with a photograph of Goddess Saraswati beside them chanted the hymns and offer their prayers to Her.

Similarly, students in Cuttack also worshipped the goddess and observed the auspicious day. The students had decorated the walls of their schools with artistic designs made up from colourful papers. The students also sang bhajans on the eve of Saraswati Puja.
