Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has commenced the fiscal 2012-13 on a positive note by achieving its Annual Production Plan (APP) targets in three major areas - Hot Metal, Crude Steel and Saleable Steel.

The Coke Ovens too surpassed the APP by registering average oven pushing of 361.4. Another area in which RSP excelled during the month of April was Techno-Economics.

The Plant recorded a Coke Rate of 524 kg per Tonne of Hot Metal, average Blast Furnace productivity of 1.489 Tonnes per Metre cube per day and Energy Consumption of 6.79 Giga Calories per Tonne of Crude Steel, which are the Best performance for any April since inception.

A major highlight of the month was launching of `Samvardhan`, the new Mission statement of RSP CEO G S Prasad, on April 4 during 500th session of the Mass Contact Exercise.

`Samvardhan` aims at bringing in sustainable growth in the organization through a four pronged strategy viz. Samskriti, Samprasaran, Spandan and Samanwaya.

While Samskriti focuses on reinforcing a culture of safety, environment, quality and cost consciousness by converting awareness into action, Samprasaran is based on reaping the benefits of expansion by galvanizing every mind.

Spandan aims at making every work spot a haven of vibrancy and fulfilment, while Samanwaya centeres around achieving total synergy by creating a symbiotic relationship with each valued partner. The essence of `Samvardhan` is to motivate the employees to "Spread Samridhi through Samskar and accomplish sustainable growth".
