Refund Unspent Money On Civil Services Coaching Centres; Higher Education Dept Writes To 8 Universities

Bhubaneswar: As many as eight universities in Odisha are yet to refund the unspent balance released by the Higher Education Department for setting up of Civil Services coaching centres on their respective campuses.

As per official sources- the authorities of Utkal University, Berhampur University, Sambalpur University, RD Women’s University, Ravenshaw University, GM University Sambalpur, FM University Balasore and North Odisha University Mayurbhanj are yet to refund the unspent balance.

All these educational institutions were allotted funds for setting up the Civil Services Coaching Centres so as to facilitate students to get required coaching needed to prepare themselves for the Civil Services and other competitive exams.

The main objective was to increase the number of aspirants who crack the civil services examinations which are one of the most challenging entrance tests in the country.

Though the Higher Education department had shot off letters to all the eight universities in the month of June to refund the unspent balance, the authorities of concerned educational institutions are yet to respond, sources said.
