Bhubaneswar: Retired Prof R Someswara Rao, one of the three interlocutors who played a pivotal role for the safe release of abducted Malkangiri district collector R. Vineel Krishna, died on Friday in New Delhi.
 
75-year-old Rao, who was on ventilator for the past seven days, breathed his last at Gangaram Hospital in the national capital.
 
The Sambalpur University professor, who was one of the three interlocutors, the others being Retd Prof G Haragopal and Dandapani Mohanty, chosen by the ultras to hold talks with the state government over Malkangiri district collector and junior engineer abduction case, rose to prominence for playing a crucial role in the safe release of Malkangiri DC R Vineel Krishna.
