Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today sealed a private nursing home for allegedly functioning without a valid licence at Kamapalli area here, official sources said.

A joint raid conducted by the police, revenue and and health officials on the nursing home at Kamapalli area in the town found that it was running without valid documents relating to the clinical establishment, said chief district medical officer S N Patnaik.

Two co-partners of the nursing home - Madan Mohan Panda and Nilanchal Moharana  were arrested on September 14 on the charge of conducting operation to a bullet-hit person without informing the police.

During investigation, the police came to know that the nursing home was running without license and intimated it to the district administration, he said

Susama Malla, a liquor vendor in Chanadanpur village under Kodala police station in Ganjam district, was injured after being allegedly shot by Sangram Sahu on July 27 after she did not give liquor to him.

Sahu, however, took her to the nursing home on the same day for her treatment and had threatened her not to disclose the matter, police said.

However, it came to the light when police arrested Sahu and interrogated him about the incident. The accused and victim had confessed about the incident, police claimed.
