Ganjam: Ganjam Police detained eight persons today in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl in Polasara. Moreover, Ganjam SP, Brijesh Ray informed that sketches of the other suspects involved in the case will be released soon.
As per the complaint, a minor girl was kidnapped and allegedly gang raped by three persons in a farmland in Balichhai area of Polasara area on Wednesday night.
Preliminary investigation revealed that three robbers allegedly broke open the door and entered the house of the girl when her family members were fast asleep.
After looting valuables, the miscreants kidnapped the girl and gang raped her before fleeing the spot. Family members of the girl rushed to the spot after hearing her screams.
The survivor was initially admitted to the Polasara hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur in a critical condition.
