Lamtaput (Koraput): The security personnel during combing operations have demolished a martyr post built by the CPI(Maoist) rebels at village Madakapadar under Khairiput block in Malkangiri district. The Maoists had raised the 3-feet high `Saheed Minar` in 2009 in the memory of cadres killed by security personnel during operations.

A joint combing party comprising forces from CRPF, SOG and district police demolished the martyr post on Friday. But the police action has created panic among the residents of the adjoining villages apprehending Maoist backlash.
