Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stone of several projects worth around Rs 5,399 crore during a special function at Police High School ground in Baripada tomorrow.
This was informed during a joint press conference organised by the Ministries of Highways and Transport, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Railways, Culture and External Affairs at Bhubaneswar.
The PM will lay the foundation stone for three national highway projects of nearly 200 km including four-laning of Rimuli-Koida section of NH-215 (new NH-520), four laning of Koida-Rajamunda section of NH-215 (new NH-520) and four-laning of Singara-Binjabahal section of NH-6 (new NH-49) that would cost a total of Rs 3,318 crore.
This apart, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Balasore-Haldia section of Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur LPG Pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The 513 km Balasore-Haldia section is being built at a cost of Rs 1,080 crore.
PM Modi is also scheduled to flag off the second passenger train from Tatanagar to Badampahar. It may be noted that Tatanagar-Badampahar railway line was laid in 1911 and only one train has been running on the route since then.
He will also inaugurate the doubling of Naranpur-Basantpur and Chillikidara-Sagadapata line and a multi modal logistics park (MMLP) at Balasore built at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
Passport sewa kendras at post offices in Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Aska, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal will also be inaugurated by the PM.
The Prime Minister, who is making his second visit to Odisha in less than a fortnight, will also inaugurate conservation and development works for Rasikaray Temple and the excavated 14th century fort of Haripurgarh which belonged to Bhanja Dynasty of Mayurbhanj.
During the visit, PM Modi will visit Baripada Chhau ground where he will address a mass public rally.
Sources said PM Modi will not only give poll mantras to party workers ahead of the general Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha but is likely to train his guns at the ruling BJD over several issues and narrate his party’s developmental agenda.
