Balasore: Tension prevailed at Jadunath College in Rasalpur of Balasore district after a Plus-III final year student was allegedly subjected to torture by a group of junior students.
As per reports, the victim was harassed by a group of students who also dunked him in a pond inside the college campus yesterday. The shocking incident came to light after a video of the entire act went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the victim student along with his supporters sought the intervention of the district Collector today alleging that the college authorities did not take any action in connection with the incident.
Admitting the occurrence of such an incident, college authorities informed that action will be taken against the students involved.
"As we were doing lot of activities in the college campus, our opponents resorted to such violence," said the victim.
Another student said, "Some students are also issuing threats to me for sharing the video of the act. As college authorities did not take any action, we apprised district Collector seeking his intervention."
Balasore Collector, K. Sudarshan Chakraborty informed that a group of students have submitted a memorandum.
"The matter will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken in this connection," said Chakraborty.
