Bhubaneswar: A day after two Odisha MLAs alleged massive irregularities in the selection of examination centres for the upcoming Plus II examination 2020, Odisha Parents’ Association on Saturday demanded a vigilance probe into the allegations.
At a presser, advisor of the Parents’ Association Basudev Bhat alleged that there have been irregularities in selection of examination centres for the Plus II examination 2020.
“We appreciate the way the two MLAs expressed concerns over selection of examination centres which indicates that there have been a kickback finalisation of centres for the upcoming examination,” said Bhat.
Bhat further stated that there are clear criteria for selection of examination centres. As per the provision, distance and CCTV facilities are being taken into consideration before selection of examination centres. Similarly, any blacklisted college for malpractice automatically gets disqualified for the same, he added.
Odisha MLAs- Kishore Mohanty and Santosh Singh Saluja on Friday expressed concerns over selection of examination centres for the upcoming Plus II examination to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha.
Both the MLAs, who are also members of the examination committee of the Council, raised doubts over the transparency in selection of the exam centres and staged a walk out from committee meeting yesterday.
“In the last meeting it was decided to select centres where no reports of malpractice or irregularities had surfaced last year. But we found that a notification regarding fixation of examination centres was issued and the list of centres was not given to us,” BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty said yesterday.
“It was earlier decided to fix centre where there were no reports of irregularities and malpractice during the conduct of Plus II exams last year. But unfortunately, some staff of the CHSE have changed the examination centres after taking money,” said Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja.
