Planning Board vice-chairman's son injured in road accident

Jagatsinghpur: Two youths, including son of Odisha Planning Board Vice-Chairman Bishnu Das were injured after the car they were travelling in hit an ambulance near Machhagaon of the district in wee hours today.

Das' son Bijay Shankar along with his friend was returning after attending a marriage reception last night, informed sources.

As per reports, around 4 AM today, the car lost control and hit an 108 ambulance near Sadeipur Chhak, following which it skidded off the road.

Both Bijay and his friend left critically injured in the mishap were rushed to the Jagatsinghpur hospital for treatment. Bijay was later transferred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

However, both are stated to be stable now, said sources. Meanwhile, police have reached the accident spot and began investigation.
