Srimandir administration seeks report on Puri deaths

Puri: The Srimandir administration today sought reports from the district police and hospital authorities regarding deaths including a drowning case in the pilgrim city during Rath Yatra yesterday.

The Srimandir administrator Suresh Mohapatra said on the basis of reports and verification documents insurance amount will be paid to the family members of the deceased.

Notably, two women died during the chariots pulling near Marichikota Chhak and Market Chhak. The deceased were identified as Sushila Samantray from Pattamundai and Nirmala Barala from Nayagarh.

Similarly, a man drowned in the sea while taking bath yesterday.
