Bhubaneswar: To facilitate the students to secure rank in the all India entrance examinations, the Council of Higher Education (CHSE) has decided to initiate the process of re-addition of Plus Two Science papers within a week after the annual examinations from this year.

“The marks of the Science students, who are keen on pursuing higher studies in Engineering and Medical streams, carry weightage in determining their all India ranks for admission in top Engineering and Medical institutes. Keeping this in view, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given us the deadline to send the revised marks of these students by June 10 this year. Acting on the directive of the CBSE, we have decided to complete the process of re-addition of Science papers within a week after the announcement of the annual examination results from this year. We will inform the students accordingly,” CHSE chairman Prof Basudeb Chhatoi told mediapersons here on Sunday.

Earlier, Council used to take more than one month to complete the process of re-addition.

Expressing happiness over the decision of the Council, well-known academician Amulya Kumar Panda said taking all these into consideration this is a good step it has taken.

“It all depends on the staff whose dedication, sincerity and willingness will determine how early they can finish the job”, he pointed out.

As decided by the CHSE, the Plus Two annual Practical examinations would be held between January 20 and 30 next year for which the students can download their admit cards from Council website www.chseodisha.nic.in from January 15.
