Deogarh: One person was killed after a lorry skidded off the road near Kandhala on National Highway-49 in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Thursday morning.
Reports said a lorry carrying some new chassis of Tata truck from Tatanagar was on the way to Mumbai when the driver lost control of the vehicle after the ropes fastened to the new chassis, suddenly snapped. As a result, the new chassis hit the back seat of the driver and overturned. While the driver managed to escape unhurt, the helper sitting inside the cabin of the new chassis, was crushed under it.
Following information, police rushed to the spot and brought the body of the helper with the help of a crane.
The deceased was yet to be identified when reports last came in.
