Bhubaneswar: There is no respite for cold wave conditions in Odisha with temperatures dipping below 10 degrees in most parts of the interior region on Monday.

“Though there would be a minor variation in temperature by 1-2 degrees depending on the wind speed and direction, cold wave conditions would prevail in the state up to January 5 or 6,” Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, told the media here.

A Met release here this evening said Phulbani and Daringbadi recorded 2.5 degrees, the lowest temperature in the state. Besides, temperature slumped to below 10 degrees at Angul (9.2), Jharsuguda (9), Keonjhar (8.4), Sundargarh (7), Hirakud (7.9), Bhawanipatna (8.2), Koraput (9) and Titlagarh (9.5).

Temperature in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was 12.6 and 12 degrees respectively.

The maximum temperature recorded across the state varied between 24.4 degrees Celsius and 30.4 degrees Celsius yesterday. While Baripada recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius, Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, the release said.
