Bhubaneswar: Though Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s announcement of a vision document to ensure holistic development by 2036 was received with a warm applause from his own party workers during the party’s 18th Foundation Day; the opposition parties termed it as another damp squib aimed at misleading people.
“The State government has created many vision documents and made many false promises. The people of the State know how far these things have been fruitful,” said Opposition leader Narasingha Mishra in response to Patnaik’s announcement.
The State government is misleading and cheating people of Odisha and is aiming to gain electoral advantage, alleged Mishra.
On the other hand, Odisha BJP President K.V. Singh Deo quipped, “The State government has failed to create any vision document over the past 15 years and by 2036, BJD will cease to exist.”
Patnaik while addressing his party workers during the BJD’s 18th foundation day today said preparations to mark Odisha’s 100th year to be celebrated in 2036 will commence from 2016. As a part of the preparations, a vision document-Odisha at 100- is being prepared to ensure holistic development of the state by 2036, he added.
Patnaik also highlighted the Central government’s attitude towards Odisha and said that the State government will continue to protest against central negligence.
Responding to these allegations, Singh Deo said, the State government has been crooning the same old tune of central negligence since long.
