Heptathlete Purnima Hembram to get Ekalabya Puraskar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s heptathlete Purnima Hembram will be awarded with the prestigious Ekalabya Puraskar for the year 2013, announced Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) here on Sunday.

Hembram will get a cash award of Rs two lakh and a memento, said sources.

Apart from her, the state’s women cricketer Roshanara Parwin and rower Manjula Xess will also be felicitated with citations and cash prize of Rs 50,000 each.

Notably, IMFA Group’s IMPaCT felicitates young sportspersons in recognition of their outstanding performances every year.
